Think multi-tasking is cool? We don’t think so. Without multi-tasking, you have a better opportunity to get into flow. We’ve found even more reasons why you should steer clear of multi-tasking.
1. You’re less distracted when you don’t multi-task

When you’re not trying to do everything at once, your environment is much tidier. Focus on what you need to focus on, and then leave it be once it’s done. So there will be far fewer things to distract you. Starve your distractions, feed your focus.

2. Multi-tasking stops you from entering flow

If you focus your attention on one thing, it’s much easier to lose yourself in your task or activity. Get in the flow! Whether it’s at work or play. Find your flow!

3. You can enjoy things more without multi-tasking

When you’re not doing several things at once, you’ll be able to enjoy each thing much more. It would be a shame to take a call at the same time as going on a walk with your family. You’d miss those wonderful feelings, simply admiring the sunset on your walk. Instead, enjoy each activity separately instead of letting them detract from each other. Enjoy life!

4. You can perform better without multi-tasking

Multi-tasking reduces your ability to perform by 40 percent! You make more mistakes and cognitive performance is worse. So don’t try to multi-task. Be productive!

5. You show more appreciation without multi-tasking

‘Huh? Sorry, what did you just say?’ How often do you have to ask someone to repeat themselves because you were only half listening? It’s better to put down your work, your phone or your book if someone wants to tell or ask you something. This shows the other person that you care about them and what they’re saying. Care!
